Context
Field and warehouse teams used specialised handheld hardware with scanners and peripherals, and needed software built for those devices and their workflows.
Challenge
Cover the full parcel lifecycle (delivery, pickup, returns and warehouse operations) on constrained hardware, often with patchy connectivity, without slowing couriers down.
What I did
- Led the mobile team and developed the apps hands-on.
- Planned the suite around four workflows: door-to-door delivery, pickups, returns and warehouse management.
- Developed on the devices’ hardware features (scanning and peripherals) and designed for one-handed, on-the-move use.
- Planned for offline-first operation and sync, so work continues without signal.
- Coordinated device, backend and integration teams through testing on real hardware before rollout.
Outcome
A single mobile suite running field and warehouse operations end to end on specialised hardware.
