Context
Programme planning lived in spreadsheets, ticket creation from business requirement documents (BRDs) was slow manual work, and stakeholders had to chase people for status.
Challenge
Give delivery leaders one place for capacity, sprint plans and progress, and remove the manual work of turning BRDs into well-formed tickets.
What I did
- Designed, built and rolled out the tool myself in Python and FastAPI, while leading its adoption across programmes.
- Built detailed capacity planning across teams, roles and sprints, so commitments were based on real availability.
- Integrated AI to read BRDs and generate epics, stories and tickets with acceptance criteria. People review and edit before anything is pushed.
- Added sprint planning and programme tracking views on the same data.
- Automated scheduled reports and progress emails to stakeholders, so status reaches them without meetings.
Outcome
Ticket creation time fell by about 60%, and programme status became something stakeholders receive, not something they chase.
